On "Eco Challenge" (1997, Australia) a female member of Japanese team "East wind" broke her leg on a trekking stage and her teammates had to carry her for next 100 kilometers for 3 days and 3 nights reaching the last section of the race, 80 kilometers of sea cayaking.

When they already thought they've made it inspite of her broken leg, after 20km of paddling they got into a sea storm and they had to give up as they all got sea sickness.

British team "Apex" had a record in staying awake, for 111 hours. It happened on "Adrenalin Rush" adventure race in year 2000 in Scotland. Capetan Rob Collins said that he needed 3 weeks to sort out his life.

Halucinations from lack of sleep and tiredness are a common thing. Many races are giving "top 10" halucinations of their race on their websites.

"Raid Galouses" in Equador (1998) started with 72 teams. None of them finished in 12-day deadline. Only 2 teams made the finishline on day 13. John Howard, capetan of the wining team and a multitime winner of "Eco" and "Raid" said: I know thay consider us as maniacs, but this time it was trully too much!"

The longest race in history was this years "Raid Gauloses". The length of the race was 1008km in totall - that is if none of the navigational errors were made.

After 12 years of adventure racing and over 300 races held over the vorld there were only 3 death situations.
- Primal Quest 2004 (falling rocks in climbing section0)
- Raid Gauloses 2003 Kirgikstan (rafting section)
- Argentina Challenge 2001 (heart attack)
