Official statement concerning the disqualification of Speleo Salomon Adventure Racing Team
The above mentioned team was disqualified from the Carpathian Adventure 2007 race, because they did not follow an obligatory route along the ridge from CP6 to CP7. This mandatory section was announced both in Romanian and English during the briefing in the technical meeting before the race.
The decision was made by the board of judges and was not contested by the team (based on the Race Rules and Regulations: Art. 6, paragraph 3 "Any contestation regarding the competition must be written and given to the panel of judges during the competition within a maximum of one hour after finishing the race. After this time the organizers will not receive any contestations. The panel of judges will review the contestations and will make a final decision within one hour maximum after receiving the contestation.").
Out of the 50 participating teams (9 from other countries than Romania), this was the only one, who didn't respect this obligatory route.
Based on the above facts team Speleo Salomon can not recall bad or unfair treatment or have any compensation request from the race organizers.
